Our customers can rely on high production efficiency: in fact we have a fully integrated production process. All processing steps are carried out at the Terni factory, from steel casting to surface processing carried out at the Finishing Centre to offer customised solutions. Our processes are constantly monitored and certified.
LOADING SCRAP IRON AND ALLOYS INTO
THE ELECTRIC ARC AND MELTING FURNACE
The end product is conceived in the steelworks by melting iron scrap and added raw materials.
PROCESSING AND REFINING
AOD, VOD and ASEA/SKLB converters for processing steel.
CASTING IN CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINES
After refining, the steel is transformed in a matter of minutes into a semi-finished form, called a slab, through traditional continuous casting machines.
HOT ROLLING
In the hot rolling mill, both traditional slabs from the walking-beam furnace and thin sheets from the tunnel furnace undergo mixed rolling with a variety of procedures.
ANNEALING AND PICKLING
The pickling and annealing process of the hot strips consists of three main phases Annealing, Mechanical Pickling and Chemical Pickling.
COLD ROLLING AREA
COLD ROLLING
The cold rolling is done with a Sendzimir rolling mill which, thanks to its special structure and process (stretching and flattening), can significantly reduce the thickness of the strips with great precision.
COLD ANNEALING IN BA FURNACE
The surface finish which is obtained in the BA process is polished, bright and mirror-like
COLD ANNEALING OF COLD ROLLED STEEL
In cold annealing of cold rolled steel, the surface of the strip is oxidised as it passes through the oven.
FINISHING CENTRE
FINISHING CENTRE
Once the production cycle has ended, the steel can be further processed in the Finishing Centre to achieve the size specifications and surface appearance required by the customer.
